A lot of people I know tend to have chronic low energy problem. Everyday, they complain of not having enough energy to function probably at work. Their solution to this problem is coffee, energy drink, etc. These quick fixes provide temporary solution but they don’t really address the real cause of the issue. In addition, these caffeinated drinks are terrible. They’re full of added sugar, unknown and possibly dangerous ingredients. Plus, they might exacerbate heart condition and anxiety. So how do we fix this low energy problem ? Very simple : we’re going back to the basic :
Eat, Sleep, Exercises
Get enough sleep and sleep early
Sleep is crucial for your well being and energy. You can never have optimal energy if you’re constantly sleep deprived. People are complaining about low energy yet they stay up late to surf the internet, partying, drinking. For high energy, you should aim to get at least 8 hour of sleep at the minimum. Also, go to bed early before 10:30 AM. The time between 10PM to 2PM is when you get the most rejuvenated benefits of sleeping (Read Sleep Smarter by Shawn Stevenson).
Eat a healthy diet void of processed food
Diet is another factor that will determine your energy level. At the basic level, food is fuel for our body. Without food, we will have no energy to function. So, it is important to pick the best fuel for our body. Fast food, junk food or highly process food in general are the worst type of fuel you can put in your body. Imagine if your body is like your car, do you want to put cheap oil into your luxury car or do you want to put high quality synthetic oil into it ? The answer is obvious (most men treat their cars better than their own bodies). In that sense, we should strive to eat as healthy as possible to get better energy. A healthy diet is the one that contain mostly whole natural food. Food that you can find in nature. To quote Jack Lalanne: “If man made it, don’t eat it.”
Exercise outside regularly
Technology has ruin us in that it makes us more inactive. We drive our car to work. We sit in front of our computers for hours to do our work. Then we go home and sit on our couch to watch TV. Our body is design to move. Without movement, the body will slowly atrophy and wither away. Exercise is very important to keep our energy level high. Exercise force you to breath deeper. For optimal energy level, we should exercise early in the morning after waking up to make the most of morning fresh air. I always notice a significant change on my energy level when I stick to my morning work out routine.
By taking care of those three basic: Eat, sleep, exercise (the holy trinity of health and wellness), you should be able to fix most of your low energy problem. However, there are some other things that might rob you of your energy. Those are:
Excessive ejaculation
Most men don’t realize this but ejaculation is a release of energy. In moderation, ejaculation is harmless and does not cause any significant energy loss. However, overindulging and ejaculating multiple times per day will lead to an obvious loss in energy. The body uses a tremendous energy and resource to replenish the loss semen. This is one of the main reason why boxers and athletes abstain from ejaculation in a long period before their performance. So if you want to conserve your energy, take a break from your partner for awhile or stay away from the porn sites for awhile.
Electronic devices
Electronic devices emit small amount of radiation. This will affect your energy and your health in long term if you expose to it regularly. Therefore, keep your exposure time limited. Take a break from your computer and your phone, keep a distance from your microwave.
Negativity
Your mental health will affect your physical health. Highly positive individuals always have high energy. It is important to keep a positive outlook if you want to have optimal energy level. Relax, be happy and stay away from all drama and negativity.
