The health and fitness industry is full of conflicting information. It’s tough for a new, uninformed person to navigate through these load of information.
Diet is one of them. There are a lot of different diets for you to follow. We have those that advocating vegan diet. We also have those that advocate carnivore diet. So many names and so many options on something as simple as what to eat.
Thing doesn’t have to be this complicated.
As with anything else, dieting or what to eat should be very simple.
Before you try any of those trendy diet, do this :
Eat real natural food that has not been processed and drink only water.
No matter how advanced we are in science and technology, we are still products of the natural world with organic flesh. Therefore, the best food for us to eat are food that are made in nature. We tend to forget this simple fact since the food industry has been bombarding us with all these new, enticing, highly processed food.
To know what is natural and what is processed is very simple. Look at the food and think to yourself if you can find such food in nature. For example, can you find donuts in nature ? versus can you find banana in nature ? The answer is pretty obvious.
That being said, some food are not as obvious to identify as natural as the others. For instance, rice looks natural but it is actually a processed food. It is the first processed food of human civilization. Although processed, it’s not really as bad, so it’s okay to eat in moderation.
Your diet should be quite healthy already if you follow the above rule 90% of the time. You don’t have to be pondering whether you’re designed to eat meat or you’re destined to be a vegetarian.
As for what to drink, I strongly believe that we should only drink water. Again, look to nature, do you see any animals that drink alcohol, soda or coffee ? The answer is no. Therefore, we humans should do the same. Drink only water as it is the only kind of liquid that we need. Milk is great for baby but as an adult we no longer need it. Any other kind of liquid will only put more work on the liver and kidney.
In conclusion, eating healthy is not as complicated as they make it out to be. All you need is common sense and a little will-power. Processed food might taste good at the moment (because it’s designed as such) but will have ill effect on your health later on. Follow the simple rule above instead of trying out some trendy diets that won’t last. Sustainable action yields consistence result.
